PARAPHRASE

TELEGRAM.

The Governor of Hong Kong to the Secretary of state for

the Colonies.

(Received Colonial Office, 9.30 a.m. 11th January,

1916).

2 Chinese maritime Customs stations on the

stores of kirs Bay on the 6th January and 2 such

on January 10th

stations in Deep Bay were looted by a gang of robbers

hired by rebel party for, sake of arms and cash

contained in them. A Hong Kong launch flying Chinese flag has also been pirated on the way to Chinese port East of Colony and two Indian guards killed. Everything is quiet in the Colony and there

is no fear of active sympathy with rebel cause.
